The Birth of Baby PP

A very overdue post but better late than never, right right? Riighhht. Plus, need a post that is related to a certain video i promised some friends i will post up (i must have been high on post pregnancy hormones to give THAT promise!)

Flashback to 11-12 October 2009::
the day(s) Mummylicious went into the labour room and
Baby PP's arrival into this world

The Birth Plan ::

Normal birth and gas as pain reliever.

What happened ::

Induced at 40 weeks, non-stop contractions with only 3cm dilation, epidural  to save energy for the labour that was a loooong way to go. Epidural again after the first needle went through a vein or something. 10 hours after that, dilation was at 6cm. Baby PP in distress. Emergency C-Section performed. ..... that is why a birth plan is called, a plan. Things don't always go the way you want it to go.

Why? ::

My gynea, Dr Tang gave a suggestion that I were to induce my delivery. I was at my heaviest weight, a whooping total of 68KG! That's 20kg increase from my pre-pregnancy weight. Baby PP was at 40 weeks. Not exactly late but her estimated weight was at 3.9 kg at 38 weeks.

Combined with my weight and baby's weight, Dr Tang was not comfortable with the idea of this little petite girl delivering a huge baby. Plus, I've had some complications that were affecting me (not baby) before that. Lets just say they were bleeding down under eh? Nothing serious but very painful that walking, sitting and sleeping was near impossible.Dr Tang feared that it was because my body was struggling with the weight of the baby and more complications would arise if we were to wait.

Before Child (B.C)
11 OCTOBER 2009

A future to be mother must always prepare herself before a child comes into this world
In my case i prepared by

 doing my hair, have a manicure and pedicure and doing A FACIAL!
seriously, since i know when I was giving birth, these are such MUST DO activities before delivery.

After having one last dinner as just the two and half of us. We checked in into our 'hotel' room
or what we thought a couple of nights.

Post induce. Pre Epidural. Lots of walking around listening to other people giving birth until Daddylicious couldnt handle it anymore.

I, the demented penguin. Dancing help with the contraction pain!!! Daddylicious thinks its funny.

12 OCTOBER 2009
The pregnant one on the bed. The supportive spouse on the chair.

FACT: while having my non stop contractions, I gave Daddylicious a back massage because of his 'back pain'.
Seriously, sympathy pain is annoying. During pregnancy, I had the nausea, Daddylicious did the vomiting. Now I was having contractions, he was having severe back pain. siigghhh

The Drama ::
Post epidural. Finally manage to sleep around 5am. Woke up at 11am after hearing loud alarming beeps from the baby heart rate and contraction monitor.
Dr Tang, my gynea was called in and she had a look. I was monitored more frequently after that and while i was trying to calm myself by going on FACEBOOK!!!

1.00PM ::
alarming beeps came again and Dr Tang also came back in and said it was too risky to wait as Baby PP been in distress too many times.

1.30PM ::
I was being wheeled into the OT. Daddylicious was so worried and dare i say...in shock that he didn't know he was not to follow me into the OT for the emergency C-sec.

1.50pm ::
Baby PP came out in with a pop!
Dr Soraya, Baby PP's pead immediately brought her to my side. "Its really is a girl!" I said. Immediately checked her toes and fingers and gave her a kiss before Baby PP was whisked off to be weighted and cleaned.

All the while...i was trembling uncontrollably from the side effect of high dose of epidural that was given to me as soon as we entered the OT and my arms were lying spread out on the operating table. I could not touch my baby with my hands but I can only see her and hear her very loud but beautiful cries.

I just couldn't stop smiling and trying to twist my head to see Baby PP somewhere behind me.
Soon after, she was given back to me for a kiss byebye. So i kissed and kissed her before she was wheeled out to her own recovering session.

But not before Daddylicious had a minute with her once she was out of the OT doors. (And took that first photo). Daddylicious said he screwed up whatever he was supposed to read to her.
Sigh...emo daddy.

See the sudden peaks at the baby monitor graph....NOT good.

4.00PM ::
Finally at around 4PM i was out from the OT recovering room.
Finally...i saw Daddylicious nervously waiting for me in front of the OT.
But still...I could not see Baby PP. She was still in the recovering room to neutralise her body heat. Apparently, they must do this for 4 hours after a C-sec baby comes out.
...4 hours after giving birth to Baby PP, i still could not hold her.

6.00PM ::
After the longest of wait, Baby PP was wheeled in into the room. Tok Bah iqamah Baby PP again since Daddylicious admitted to screwing it up earlier. :P
and
FINALLY 4 hours after I gave birth to Baby PP, i held her in my arms. Counted her fingers and toes again. Looked at her face. Just...gazed at her. Until my mom asked me to give her milk.

Hearing Baby PP cry her (then) oh so sweet cry and holding her the first time.

Princess Peanut real name was let known  as
Danya Zafirah

12 October 2009
1:50 PM @ 3.31 kg
(I really had a hard time not to let people know her chosen name before birth :P )

It seems like it was yesterday she was given to us, now she is 13 months old.

Happy Birthday Baby PP

Pejam celik pejam celik*In a blink of an eye. Baby PP has turned one.

There are no words to express how happy I am that she is in my life. How priorities in my life have changed just because she is here with me.

Alhamdullilah, thank the Lord for her safe delivery one year ago today and for letting me see her when she took her first breathe and her first look at the world, her first tears and laughter, her first coo and shout, her first crawling steps and standing up. Please give me the chance to share with her, her many other firsts in this life.

Dearest Baby PP, Mummy and Daddy love you very much. Even with all the "No No No" and the "Naughty naughty girl", we love you.

Now...back to her birthday party planning! and...tracking back for Raya events. Its really hard! gah~

Finally Eid Photos!

There were so many stories to tell about Eid with Baby PP. There's the story about her and the lost lambs and the story of her and cats. and the escaping maggosteen!

I  promise i will post about those...(once i figure out how to settle my video issues with youtube) among others. but for now, a post filled with the general happenings for the first couple of days of Eid.

*Most of the photos were taken with Canon 40D 50mm 1:4 lense. It was a special celebration so the big guns came out

Baby PP woke up to find Mummylicious went for Eid morning prayers.
Mummylicious came home to find her smiling at me while being bathe by her Aunty Wawa
and then wearing her diamond necklace she got from her 'Fairy-Godmothers'

Baju kurung for the day made specially by Daddylicious's mom, my MIL, Baby PP's grandmother, Tok Mi. Shoes to match Mummy's!

She got her first ang pow while having her breakfast! She was really curious on its content and the ang pow itself. ....except when Daddylicious gave one to her...but when Uncle Adri came and gave her the big money...she gladly took it! maybe because it was without the angpow package. hmmmm...

Official family photoshoot.
We really really tried everything to make her smile.

Then we resorted to just take photos like these.

 Milestone alert!
Baby PP at 11 months old finally learn how to move her legs to 'walk'.

Time to ask for forgiveness.
Baby PP does not want to shake anyones hands.
Only recently she is willing....if Mummy does it first :)

 Then we let her loose and she happilly played with herself and the main door's grille.

 My little baby's antics during raya.
From 'praying', sleeping at once after 2 minutes car drive,
going through everyones handbags,
eating mangosteen and of course...
raya cookies sessions. She does love her bread and cookies!

Why i don't have any beadings on my new baju kurung.
See what she is doing with one of my pre-pregnancy baju that i manage to fit into!
(just wanted to say that! muahaha)

 Tutu crazy during the second day.

With the Kelantan clan.

What happen when Mummy get bored waiting for people for photoshoot? this happen...

Baby PP with her great-grandparents and grandparents from Daddylicious side

With the Great-Grandmother, Tok Mek and her aunties. Yup..including those little girls. Aunties.

Mummylicious and Daddylicious private photoshoot.
Pretending we are single mingle la konon

Mummylicious and Daddylicious love our beloved Baby PP

Phew! That is finally done!
Weheeehehe can now focus on the birthday party planning posts

Flashback to Eid 2009

I know Eid is like, over but seriously? Did you think i would not be posting photos and reminiscence about bygones Eid? Soooo not gonna happen! So here is the start of backtracking through out Syawal.

Ps: There was are very good reasons to why i am late with these photos.

1. Somehow Baby PP managed to delete...YES delete photos from one of the camera. It was already transfered to my laptop that i brought back and yet she deleted them while smacking random things on the laptop...but get this...it was NOT IN THE TRASH! Gah.....thankfully Daddylicious managed to recovered them all...albeit it took some time and looking for free recovering system.

2. Then my laptop refuses to acknowledged the recovered and transfered photos to be uploaded. Harumpph! But...moving on!

Eid 2008
We celebrated as a married couple for the first time.
Just the two of us

Since my grandmother passive aggressively said "Makmak tutup kunci pintu je la raya ni, bukan sapa nak balik pun" (I will just lock the doors during Eid, there won't be anyone coming home anyway), we made a trip back to MY hometown Alor Star! before heading to Kelantan on the 3rd day :P

Eid 2009
It was our 2nd year Eid as a married couple.
This time it was just the two and half of us. Half! in my huge tummy!

Since i was 8 months pregnant, a 5 hours trip back to Kelantan was out by flight and by car. OUT! Will not take that risk. So Daddylicious missed his turn to celebrate Eid in his hometown.

Eid 2010
Our 3rd year Eid as a married couple but who cares about that? Its Baby PP's FIRST EID.
Now there are 3 of us!

And Daddylicious FINALLY got to celebrate Eid in his hometown in Kelantan after missing it for 2
 years. So it was the whole family (*sob i have a family!) first time raya in Kelantan!

Do you want to see how pregnant i was last raya? These photos will showcase how BIG i was!

EId 2009 - VERY Pregnant Mummy at around 8 months pregnancy playing with firecrackers

Yup, still wanted to light the firecrackers...but then had trouble getting up!

Eid 2010 - 11 Months old Baby PP playing firecrackers with Mummy.
Heh...so much more subdue Mummylicious

Eid 2009 - There was only me for Daddylicious to give duit raya to

Eid 2010 - Extra little hands who wanted her angpow!

Ps: Eid 2011
There are no plans for 'Just 3 and half of us'. So stop asking :P

Selamat Hari Raya!

Tomorrow is going to be Baby PP's first Eid. It is also Mummylicious's first Eid away from her family and first time celebrating the first day of Eid in Kelantan and as a mother. ( I dont know how, but even when i was studying overseas i managed to come home before Eid!).

Baby PP's baju kurung have been ironed, her nails been cut and her jewellery been laid out. Tomorrow will be a major photo session!

But for tonight, just a short photosession with Baby PP's first time playing with sparklers and watching Eid fireworks. From the bottom of my heart, forgive me for any hurt feelings or wrongdoings. Maaf Zahir Batin and Hope you have a joyous Eid!

Baby's Travelling Experiences :: Mummylicious Hates Packing

Mummylicious hates packing when she was single. Mummylicious  hates packing when she is married. Needless to say, Mummylicious still hates packing now that she have a baby. One post i can never do is "How to pack for Mummy and Baby when on vacation". I can give tips on "How NOT to pack" because based on experience...I am VERY good at that.
So here I am, procrastinating packing to go back to Daddylicious's hometown. Instead of packing, lets do a blog post about "Baby PP's travelling experiences"!

First packing experience for travelling with a baby was chaotic. I didn't what to bring or what not to bring! I was intent to bring her whole closet...."Just in case" was...IS my mantra. Daddylicious constant reminder than we were going for a week did NOT help.

Play spot the baby!
The clothes on the bed was for Baby PP supply for a week.

In my defense, it's the first packing trip that involved a wedding AND a beach vacation. Combine all that, i went crazy with "JUST IN CASE!"

14 pajamas...just in case. 20 rompers...just in case. 10 dresses...just in case. Everything was in double extras..just in case...

Baby PP have travelled....a lot in her first year. The "Just in case" never failed

"First ride on a ferry! yayyy *while concerntrating hard on THE explosive poo"
Baby PP pooped on Daddylicious seconds after this photo was taken. Packing JUST IN CASE was very justified. Daddylicious was lucky he had an extra tshirt as it was AN EXPLOSIVE POOOOO!

"Stop looking at me! I poo! I'm a baby!"
Post Pooping. First time on a FERRY!

First sand between her toes experience in Langkawi!

 First dip in the sea! My water baby enjoyed it very well

No baby car seat with rented cars in Langkawi

A must ye?

On the return trip, she got her own seat! Weee

Travelling No.5 -(7-15 Sept 2010)
Baby PP's Age :: 10 Months and 3 weeks :: EID CELEBRATIONS IN KELANTAN
KL to Kelantan via aeroplane and an 8 hours drive back from Kelantan to KL. Give me strength.

Baby PP have been in long drives, on ferries, on speedboats, on whole day boat ride, on a plane and even ridden in a tuk-tuk and a riggedy small fisherman's boat ! All within the first year of her life. Tomorrow it will be her 2nd time on a plane and another long drive home from Kelantan to KL for the return trip. I should make a travel post with babies. But right now i am too concerned about packing for tomorrow.

As you can see, i should have gotten packing with a baby down pat based on the experience. But nooooo....i foresee another clothes tsunami after this post.
