Baby gets bullied by daddylicious

Daddylicious decided that her pjyamas are too long for her when she was 7 months old, so Daddylicious wanted to help out by doing this...

My little bounded legs baby

Now Baby PP is 8 months old and 2 weeks old, Daddylicious is up to his bullying tactics again, but this time...the arms got it.

"Erm daddy? What happened? ....*struggle weird struggle*"
"Oh hey! *happyhappy* i can munch on this knot!" "Munchmunch nom nom nom"
"Ok now i really want to my arms out!"

"Mummy? Can you help me out?"

Making deals with Mummy. Mummylicious get Baby PP's arms out, and Mummylicious gets a kiss!
"Ohhh thank you mummy! i love you mummy i love you i love you. Kiss kiss kiss kiss"
Mummylicious got her very wet sloppy reward by kisses on the nose, chin..whole face

Baby PP happy that she is now a free baby to roam wherever she wants to roam*
*limited to on the bed only
"Humph Daddy, take that!"

That's all the update of the weekend. it has been a busy tiring crazy weekend so need to sleep although gazillion post should be done but I am not up to it. Good night and have a good monday everyone!

Now lets all sleep like a baby!

Mummylicious confinement activity No.1

During pregnancy, insomnia hits me like crazy. I couldn't fall asleep because I was never comfortable. and then came the confinement. Which can be very boring. Stuck in the house for 44 days. Feeding the baby, changing the baby., eat 3 times a day. That's all you have to do. Over and over again.

To get over the boredom, i watched a lot of US TV series streamings on my laptop. There is a tip for future mummies facing the dreaded confinement period. Do not watch some popular TV series for many many seasons because you can catch up on ALL the latest and not so latest shows during your confinement and maintain your sanity over the boredom.

Usually I watched them while feeding Baby PP in the early months, because falling asleep in a second with her is never possible. By the time I fall asleep, she would wake up and the cycle continues. So to make myself not go crazy, i watched downloaded shows (and a lot of Facebook and Farmville!)

But now she is bigger. Viewing habits have to change.

One show that I love to watch but no longer can watch with Baby PP around since she is learning gazillion new things everyday. So I watch after she falls asleep. Her, and Daddylicious.

True Blood.

Season 3 has started! This is one TV series one should not watch with children around.

1. Lots of s-e-x
2. Lots of blood and gore.

If you want your kids to watch vampires. Let them watch Twilight. Twilight vampires twinkle in the sun, True Blood vampires have s-e-x, kill, kill, gore, gore and get naked a lot.

Let me make this clear, I started watching this before it got popular and before Twihards was a word. I watched True Blood when I was pregnant and while Baby PP only cares about clean diaper, getting fed and sleep. Now, she wants to watch what is on my laptop. Very difficult la like this. Have to sneak watching TV series I like without her around. And she's only 8 months old!

But here's another TV series to watch while  I feed Baby PP and totally safe to watch with her.

Drop Dead Diva

Where a hilarious tv series reminiscent of those Ally McBeal days. Its about this blonde model who was about the get engaged to her lawyer boyfriend but suddenly died. However, at heaven's gate, she hit the return button and was transported back to earth. Except she returned into a different body that also died at the same time she did. A brunette, big sized, lawyer.

Now in its second season! Yayyyy!!! blonde in a brunette head. perfect.
Totally guilty pleasure watch with no brain activity.

Mummylicious shopping fabric for Eid

I'm gonna lapse to my mother tongue for a moment because sometimes, only your 1st language can truly express the emotions I am going through.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Raya dah dekat! Puasa belum ganti!!! 30 hari!!! kenapa laaaa masa pregnant haritu tak posaaaa...aaaaaahhh..pastuh nak kena beli kain nak buat baju raya plak tu. ah takda baju takda baju.

Ok. Venting done.

Basically for Muslims, every Ramadhan if you are a healthy capable person, you must fast for nearly 30 days. Since I was pregnant last year, I was given a "get out of jail" card. :P

Unfortunately, you have to pay back the days when you go on holiday from fasting. That means, I have to fast 30 days
I did fast for around 7 days. But then...i got tired , or so i shall remain saying. So not exactly 30 days lah I have to refund back but considering my lastlast year where I didn't replace my fasting. It adds up to 30 days anyway. Sigh. I've been bad.
In another note, Eid is coming, and I haven't bought any fabric to make my baju kurung raya. Daddylicious, gave me a limit! a LIMIT! of 3 fabric choices only. THREE! OMG! but hehe..I'm gonna get five. Five is not too much over the limit right?

Kawaii ribbons for Mummy and Baby!

Big Donuts for Mummy and Tiffany Blue Polka Dot for Baby

Most expensive, My Minds Eye's designer fabric for Mummy and Baby

Vintage strawberry for Mummy...je.

Thinking about cherry to match for Baby PP. What you think?

Thinking about these pink roses though. Hmmmm

My choices of fabric to match2 with the little baby PP. Yes, it's from my own shop. Why would i promote something I won't even get? Not my style at all.

MIL bought grey lace and blue fabric from Indonesia to wear on first day of raya. Thought the dark grey stripe for Daddylicious would go well with it. And Baby PP will wear the same stripe as her baju kebaya kain and plain blue top. Pr maybe the turquoise stripes. Any suggestion? Nope, this is not over the limit, its not for me! muahaha

Sigh. Havent even paid my dues and already am thinking of celebrating Eid. Haih.

Mummylicious & Baby play with accessories 2

So Baby PP is sick with still undiagnosed rashes. Does it mean the end of getting bullied by her mean mean parents? Of course not! We are mean! Ok actually, its the Daddy that is mean. I just take photos.

First Daddylicious bullied Baby PP with the clinic's medicine plastic bag.
It was a hat that turned into one foot socks! She didn't even try to remove it.

Then Daddylicious's cap got onto her head.

Then it was Mummylicious's English paperboy hat replaced the cap because the cap was deemed not cute enough. Baby PP was not happy at the end.

And here is a couple of photos of Baby PP getting bullied by her Tok Mami and Aunty Wawa. (My MIL and SIL)

Ah..fun times.

Baby is sick, possible roseola but so active

Baby PP is sick with rashes all over her back, chest and face. But just to prove that it is most probably not chicken pox or an allergy, and possibly harmless Roseola Infantum. Other than extra clinginess and fussiness, theres the usual activity she would show she is well and not..."listless" as some other sickness would make her be.

Baby PP in a 2-3 minute time lapse. Relax-roll-lie down-face down hand stretch forward-look at daddy-annoy daddy with laptop-put face in pillow-roll-pushpushpush-look really bored

Baby had a fever and severe rashes: allergy, chicken pox or roseola?

Hectic. That would be the word for the last 4 days. Waking up with Baby PP having a high fever one day and a body full of rash the next day. Regardless of the amount of information new parents have at their fingertips, a trip or two to the doctor is a must when situation like this occur.

Thursday
High fever of 38.2 degree made an appearance early in the morning.
The day before Mummylicious noticed a start of a fever and stayed home in hope it will not worsen. It "worsen". I woke up with a worry, told Daddylicious and we trooped to SDMC's emergency. Baby PP's pead was on holiday so the emergency doctor will have to do without a prior appointment with another peads.

Baby PP looking sad at SDMC emergency.

Fever was confirmed at 38.2 degree celsius. A confirmed fever. Normal baby's temperature should be between 36 to 37 degree celcius and with Baby PP staying in air conditioned house is normally at 35.9 degree celsius. (Parents should be aware of baby normal temperature to know the difference). High temperature would be above 38.5 degree celcius. More in link below

SDMC emergency doctor checking Baby PP's mouth. Maybe it teething fever?

But the doctor checked Baby PP and asked about vomiting, coughing, diarrhea, feeding and drinking habits. I could only answer, no to vomiting coughing diarrhea, baby PP is eating less but want more breastmilk, refusing regular plain water which she normally love.

Since to the doctor, the fever is still considered mild, we were advised to get Baby PP to drink plain water no matter what, prescribed baby paracetamol and if the fever persisted at the same temperature the next day, another trip to the emergency is a must. That is all they could do.

Friday
Fever was lower than the day before. Still feverish but so long it is lower, it should be ok.
Noticed a couple of rash spots on Baby PP's abdomen but thought it was just a mild irritation.

Saturday
Woke up with Baby PP's abdomen and back full of little raised rashes. Must admit, I panicked a bit, called Daddylicious to come home from an exhibition in KL, got him to contact our family doctor straight and did online research. I was most worried about meningitis rash and no matter how prepared i was before, the readings i did about "when a parent should really worry about rashes", i forgotten everything! All i remember about meningitis was there will be fever and rash!

FYI meningitis rash will not be raised. It will be below the skin and look more like bruises. When presses, skin will not turn white but remain red or purple-blueish.
"Use the glass test if your child has a rash and you suspect it could be meningitis. This is done by pressing a drinking glass firmly against the rash - if the spots don't fade through the glass, it could be meningococcal sepeticaemia, so call your GP immediately. If the spots fade away, the test is negative. But call your GP if you are worried." Askamum.co.uk
Meningitis checklist for infants
(meningitis rash is only one of the symptoms that might or might not appear)

(More links on Meningitis symptoms for babies and children at the bottom. I include it cause it is important to know and it is often misdiagnosed by *gasp doctors!)

Gave a deep sigh of relief after I poke Baby PP in the tummy and everywhere there were rashes to check if it turns white or remain the same even when i know raised rashes = not meningitis. One can never be too sure.

Once Daddylicious got back. We made a trip to see our family doctor to have a look at the rashes.

Roseola rash on baby chest and abdomen
Day 1: Baby PP's rash on her abdomen.

Roseola rash around neck area
Day 1: Baby PP's rash behind her ears and on her neck

She concluded it could be 2 things.

Allergic reaction

To what is unknown. the only new thing was given to Baby PP was pamelo fruit. and that is highly unallergy trigger! egg yolks was given too far back to be a cause and she had paracetamol before with no side effects.
or

Chicken pox
"this starts off with a few red spots or bumps (often mistaken for insect bites). Fever is common. The next day many more bumps will appear, and the first bumps will have turned into blisters. " AskDrSears
The doctor gave Baby PP antihistamine medication and with advise to see our regular pead on Monday if rash persist and to just let the pead know what is happening for the records.

If its allergic reaction, rashes will subside. Stop paracetamol just in case it was paracetamol allergy, no more egg yolks till a couple of weeks although the time frame of egg yolk allergy doesn't fit, no fish, no chicken, no new food...and no random table food. :P

If it is chicken pox, it will be worst. By day 3-4 the now flat rashes will be watery inside. To easily see, use a flashlight :) Then it is chicken pox and a trip to the peads is a MUST. if it is measles...which is doubtful due to MMR vaccination, definitely must see doc. My family doc dont think its chicken pox though cause it looks too much like measles but Baby PP is too happy to be "measly"

Day 1: Drugged out from the antihistamine

and this is how my little lady sleeps.

After my immense research about fever and rashes. I have to add a 3rd possible cause, one that is usually the last to be diagnosed but thankfully least harmful if it was not. Just a lot of Mummy being paranoid harm.

Roseola virus.
"It is a usually harmless illness caused by a virus. It occurs almost only in children age 3 months to 3 years, most often between 9-12 months. It is probably the most common cause of fever in this age group. This virus generally causes 3 days of high fever (often over 103). The fever then subsides, and the child breaks out in a flat or bumpy red rash, usually starting around the neck, back and chest, then spreading out. The rash lasts a few days to a couple weeks."
"What is most striking is that the child seems so well despite having a high fever."
Baby PP's case suits Roseola virus description. A high fever that dissapeared and  AFTER that rashes all over the back, abdomen, head and face. Rashes will only extend to the arms and legs in extreme cases. And she only want to be carried everywhere although she still somewhat smiling, laughing and curious about everything but must be on someone's lap. and she sleeps more than normal. It fits. Especially when most mommies forumers talk about baby fussiness and extra clingyness. Other than that, baby PP is quite a happy baby. Just dont let Mummy walk away from her. that is all.

Busy playing after seeing the doctor that she did not realise something is amiss

"Mummy!!! I'M STUCK!"
Baby PP's being sick does include being stuck underneath the sofa during playtime
Fortunately, if it turnes out to be Roseola, Baby PP should recover in a few days without any intervention with no side effects. There is a chance of seizures but it should not cause any brain damage or anything to worry about.

They only advise parents to "BE CALM, clear area of any objects that might hurt the child, turn child to the side so chocking on drool might occur and let the seizure run its course". Most important that i and the rest of the family to remember is....BE CALM...if it happens. Remember Mummylicious, be calm and carry on.
"The good news: Once your child has had roseola, he'll probably have lifelong immunity to it."  BabyCenter

Sunday
Rash still there albeit it looks less menacing. But it has truly spread all over her face! Awww

Roseola rash on baby face
Day 2: Rash spread all over Baby PP's face :(

Although Roseola rashes are not supposed to be itchy, we won't know right? Not like Baby PP can tell us if it itcy or not. And what if it was chicken pox? So in an effort to ease the possibly itchiness, we put a traditional Malay oitment on PP....which was....

BEDAK SEJUK! I dont know the translation in english, but it is basically white powder that is cooling to the skin. Old people and those that value traditonal beauty practice puts on bedak sejuk on the face to maintain clear skin.

And then we put them on ourselves in support of Baby PP! hehe
and look at her staring at her Daddy's sudden "whiteness".

Whatever causing the rashes, it is still undiagnosed and we must patiently wait it out while looking forlornly at the sad, red face of Baby PP.

Hopefully tomorrow, Monday, we can get something out from Baby PP's normal pead.
Update: 100% Roseola. Classic high fever, then 3 days later...small pimply rash all over. Completely harmless but heck scared the Fish out of me.

Baby made her first trip to McDonalds!

What is modern childhood without McDonalds nowadays? Baby PP made her first trip to McDonalds when her famished Mummylicious and Daddylicious wanted to have McDonalds breakfast after going to the hospital early in the morning to check PP's high temperature.

"Mummy where are we? Everything is so bright!"

"Hello!!!! I'm in McDonalds!!!"
Wave wave wave!

Edit: How can a baby with fever be this happy?
More conclusion direct that Baby PP have Roseola infantum

Happy Father's Day to Daddylicious!

Last month was my first Mother's Day ever, but today it is Daddylicious turn as it is his first Father's Day ever!
My husband, I am glad I married you. You have proven to be the father I always wished my children to have. A father that gave my little baby first bath, , feed her when she is hungry, bath her when she is dirty, change her diapers willingly and almost willingly during Poo-Poo situation when she needed it, soothe her when she cries, rock her to sleep when she is tired, take care of her when I couldn't and most of all, giving her your time and being there for her.

Baby PP suprising Daddylicious with her card
"Here Daddy. Hope you like it....*looking worried Daddy won't*"

The Card: The inside pic that made Daddylicious cried. A photo of the first time he laid eyes on Baby PP and truly the first day of Daddy-hood. It says,

"To my daddy - Even though you bully me everyday,
I know you love me.
and I love you too, that’s why I like to poo-poo whenever you’re home so you make time to change my diaper instead of watching golf.

Mummy can read my mind, so she wrote this for me.
I typed “avcfdndfjkjs” but m=Mummy said Daddy won’t understand so she translated this to “adult language”.

HAPPY DADDY’S DAY!

Heart heart. Baby PP 8 Months and 8 days old."

And then she got bullied again by her Daddy.
"Daddddyy! I gave you a card! stop bullying me!! no, No, NOOO!!! waaah!!!"

To my own Papa, Happy Father's Day. Though I hardly express it, I love you Papa. You were not the modern age father Daddylicious is, but I know you tried to make time to there for us when we were younger even with your demanding job and provided the family whatever we needed and most of our wants. Love you.

Mummylicious went out for 2 movies in a week!

Oh! How grand it is now that Baby PP have a set sleeping hours and continue to sleep till the morning. It meant that Mummylicious now can relax (with phone at hand) at the movies. And we are taking full advantage of it!

Movie No.1

On Tuesday Daddylicious, Mummylicious AND Aunty Alia (Our chaperone) went to watch Yummyyummy Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia. The princess, Gemma Arterton in it is H-O-T.

Being a gamer and who have played Prince of Persia the game, I had high expectations. Honestly it was a decent adaptation of the game. Gyllenhaal acrobatic moves mimic the games so well that my thumbs were moving together in coordination. There's not much puzzle solving in it as the game, but that is expected I guess. It would be too long otherwise. Cramming 3 games sequels into one movie is a lot. But the movie storyline flowed well with the games' storylines, although not too direct to be a boring mess. It gave what gamers expected with excellent graphic and a storyline (and a hunk/babe) to hook the non-gamers too.

Movie No.2 (SPOILER ALERT)

All single girls watched Sex and the City the series one time or another. Most have probably watched the first movie too. But as Carrie Bradshaw open her latest published book in Sex and the City 2 to the dedication page, the movie declared its targeted audience and who would most relate to this sequel's story line...

"To all the former single girls"

With an exception to Samantha's hilarious menopausal behaviour and Miranda's workplace sexism issue (but that has always been Miranda's plotline anyway), Carrie and Charlotte are more concerned with their marriage and children this time around. Are single  women (and men) expected to relate to menopause, marriage and kids? Nope, dont think so. So if single girls or ladies as i should say, watches this, it is more of a warning what to expect when you get older and married and have kids. That or just watch the movie for the fashion (disaster/trends) and SHOES. ah the shoes. What is SATC without shoes.
One of the ...whattt??? true to SATC form though : fashion to shock

Now go "aaahhhhhhhhhh"

But to all the former single girls, it is a movie to watch.

Marriage

We can relate better to Carrie's problems with the mundane activities of married couple. The excitement to get out from the house, to have dinner outside! to mingle with other human beings! Not to watch tv everyday. Ah...so can relate to that. Yes yes, married life does include the occasional movie nights at home. But it should also include romance....and a jewellery or two on special occasions :P

Motherhood

However, the most I could relate to was with Charlotte and Miranda. The mothers. There was a scene where Miranda confronted Charlotte about her feelings towards her children and they said what most mothers would never confess

"I love my girls but...I am going crazy!"

The honesty of motherhood is not all pretty and pink and of cupcakes and fun. It can sucks at times and it is hard. They touched on the guilt of being a mother who still want to feel like a normal human being without responsibilities. The guilt of wanting to have..."Mummy time".

I truly feel like I want to slap the moms who says they NEVER have problems with their kids. They NEVER feel like they want to cry and run into the bathroom to have a bit of alone time. This Mummylicious says its crap. You are Charlotte before Miranda's inter"friend"tion. In denial over the need to escape. Even I who have help from maids to hold Baby PP when I need to take a bath and gather my sanity, sometimes feels suffocated. I too, love my daughter with all my heart but I want my time, i NEED my time and I too suffer the guilt of wanting my own time to be me.

Why can't people admit that?
Why is it wrong to admit that?
Does it really makes me a bad mother to admit it?
Why.must.you.make.me.feel.guilty.when.i.admit.it?

As Miranda and Charlotte did in the movie, I raise my mocktail in salute to the mothers without helpers! and i salute SATC2 for growing up with their fans in the movie and addressing issues most just deny happening to themselves.
Ps:
As for the reviews I read about the nonsense of UEA ladies wearing burqa's because of male oppression and "unrealistic" designer clothes hidden underneath, the critics seriously have to do more research with Arab / Muslim women. There is nothing oppressive about wearing a burqa/abaya and maybe they should get invited to an all women Arab gathering when the burqas, abayas and niqab comes off. MasyaAllah. There is a reason why designer shops welcome Arab tourist with open arms. I say SATC got that one right.
